Kidney patients 4 DIALYSIS DIARY
DIALYSIS DIARY
Maybe my ward nurse resents her responsibilities
Knowing that she must tick the box that says she saved my life again and through the rigmarole of X equals Y and for blue collar pay day
When the cleaner taps my bed a little too authoritatively to wake me for my brekky like she too resents the lifetime she has spent serving the infirm who seem to slither like worms sparing no glory for her story
And all those classics of Edwardian mental wards, sadistic care workers, bullying and murderous nurses seem far too close to reality
actively tangible and rubber stamped in internet chat rooms
What the hell am I supposed to believe when I have to pray for peace
When all we ever seek is relief
and I have to ask that sentence with the prefix 'what the hell'?.
